Fun to Watch if you don't take it too seriously.

I originally watched this movie a decade ago with the intention of scoping out the very attractive Steven Strait. I am fond of movies about the occult, and witches in particular. The Covenant gives an alternative view to the Salem Witch Trials, the idea that not only women could be witches and were persecuted as such. Yes, there is lots of eye candy. Yes, it's a fairly cheesy film.
The true standout for me has always been Sebastian Stan. This was the first true glimpse at what he can do. He can play cute and sweet and in another breath be sinister and threatening. He has some mad acting skills, and as the film's antagonist, he brings them to the table.

Yes, it's a cheesy teen horror flick. If you're looking for Oscar worthy storytelling, this isn't the movie for you. If you're looking for some cool CGI, a load of hot guys, a little teen romance with a passable plot, you've come to the right place. This movie is my guilty pleasure.
