About the Author
Kevin Corley and Jennifer Stephen are both based at Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital, Republic of Ireland. Kevin was formerly a Lecturer in Equine Medicine and Critical Care, and Head of the Neonatal Foal Intensive Care Programme, at the Royal Veterinary College, London. He is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Equine Medicine (Internal Medicine) and diplomate of both the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He is widely published in equine internal medicine and critical care, and has spoken at a range of international conferences.

A practical, useful addition to any equine practitioners collection

This is a practical guide to procedures and therapeutics used in equine hospitals, from the very basic to the advanced, and includes recommended doses for a huge number of medications in an easy to find format. It shows how to successfully perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and is easy to read. In addition, the hospital design section covers material that is not published elsewhere. The book would also be useful for those without hospital facilities, who want to practice a high standard of care. Overall, the book is a really useful addition to the equine literature.

This book is great, yes

This book is great, yes. It contains a ton of valuable information; so much that you will not be able to absorb it all the whole semester/term time. I would have given it a 5-star, but I can only give 3 stars because this book is such a RIP OFF. It's a freaking popular book and I guess the authors/publisher know that it's a best seller, but I regret that they put such a high price. I mean, come on, you are selling this to students who are usually don't have that much money. It is such an irony that they're selling a book on Education to aspiring teachers, but they tax them so much. Idk -- just my two cents.

And then the quality of the book itself was very poor. There was writing

I rented this book for a college course. First of all it took a really long time to ship; probably about 3 weeks at least. And then the quality of the book itself was very poor. There was writing, highlighting, and other peoples notes and papers all inside the book. I personally do not care if the book contains any of that because I can just see past it like it is not even there, but I know some people care so I found it necessary to point that out. The information in the book is very useful and organized. Even though the book I rented wasn't in the best shape, I still highly recommend because I expected this kind of quality from a rented book and you cannot beat the price!

There is not much in the book that you can't find online for free. Universities have websites to help improve writing skills and a simple google search can yield all of the same information in this book. If your professor does not insist that you buy this it, don't. There are no assignments in it so it's not likely you will miss anything without it.

Good book for those new to writing for publications

I actually took the class from Mr. Lang at Ohio State which was a pretty good class. This is the text that he wrote. This serves as a good entry level text for those that are new to writing for publication in scientific and medical journals. It gives good points on those questions you ask your self like what font to use on a professional poster? or what information a plot should show for publication? Has a follow-up book "How to Report Statistics in Medicine" which is also a good resource to have on your bookshelf.

If you have an active satsang group that likes to sing bhajans from all the amazing selections of 5 volumes. Then that can be a lot of books to carry to your chanting venue and the kindle is a great way to lighten you load. So i downloaded my free kindle book reader app for my iPad. Downloaded all five Bhajanamritam volumes. With an ebook you can always read the chant when the lighting in the temple is a bit too dark. If you tap on the screen you can search for song title, or verse. Which is a great way to find the verse. You can enlarge the font size or font style to make sure you can read it more easily for you and the chela next to you who can read it also. Or if the background is too light you can adjust it to be darker or you make it black with white words. You can bookmark you favorite chants. It's also easy to highlight any word or parts of the page.and even add overlay notes in case you want to add notes on how to pronounce or sing etc.

I bought this because it was 'required' for my graduate ...

I bought this because it was 'required' for my graduate level medical imaging course. It is however, not up to par for what a biomed. eng. or medical physicist would want/need. It is more appropriate for a medical student interested in imaging or a radiology resident. For the course, we quickly ended up referring to Jerry Prince's Medical Imaging Signals and Systems, which goes much more in depth into the math, yet explains it really well.

He has won research awards from the AAEA and teaching awards from UC Davis. He is listed in Who’s Who in Economics as one of the world’s most cited economists. A former editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics, he has worked on projects with the United Nations, the World Bank, and other agencies, as well as a number of foreign governments.
